ReadyBid — The Marketplace Where Sellers Compete for You

ReadyBid flips the usual marketplace around. Instead of buyers searching through listings, they post what they need — goods or services — and verified sellers compete to fulfil it by sending their best offers. We built ReadyBid as a responsive web app that makes that reverse flow feel simple, trustworthy and fast on desktop and tablet alike.

Overview

On a conventional marketplace, the buyer does the work: browsing listings, comparing sellers and chasing quotes. ReadyBid shifts that effort to the sellers. A buyer describes what they need and sets a budget, sellers see the request and respond with offers, and the buyer simply picks the one that suits them best.

The platform covers a broad range of categories — Property & Land, Vehicles & Transport, Home & Living, Technology & Electronics, Fashion & Personal Goods, Recreation & Lifestyle, and Family & Kids — so the same flow works whether someone needs a plumber, a web designer or a removal van.

Solution

We designed the product around a single, search-first entry point. The homepage leads with the promise — "the marketplace where sellers compete for you" — and puts a category-filtered search bar and a Post Request button front and centre, so a buyer can go from landing to posting a request in a few clicks. Sellers get the other side of the journey: a Browse Requests view where they can find relevant requests and respond with offers.

The whole experience is explained in four steps that appear throughout the product:

  1. Post your request — describe what you need and set your budget. Posting is free.
  2. Receive offers — sellers see the request and send their best offers.
  3. Accept and connect — choose the best offer and pay securely to unlock the seller's contact details.
  4. Get delivered — deal directly with the seller to complete the item or service.

That third step is the commercial heart of the model: buyers and sellers deal with each other directly, and the platform earns when a match is made.

Process

Designing for trust

A reverse marketplace only works if both sides trust it — buyers need to believe offers are genuine, and sellers need to believe requests are real. We made trust visible from the first screen: a strip under the search bar highlights verified members, secure payments and Stripe-powered checkout, and a statistics band shows the platform's activity at a glance. Requests are surfaced in a Latest Requests feed, so new visitors can see the marketplace working before they sign up.

The request-and-offer flow

The core flow had to stay short on both sides. Buyers post a request with a description and budget; sellers browse requests by category and respond with offers; the buyer compares offers and accepts one. Category chips across the homepage let users jump straight into the part of the marketplace that matters to them, and the "How it Works" page walks first-time users through the four steps with clear, numbered cards.

Secure payments with Stripe

Payments run through Stripe, so card details are handled by Stripe rather than stored on the platform. Paying to unlock a seller's contact details is a single, focused checkout step, which keeps the moment of commitment simple for buyers and gives the business a clean revenue event for every successful match.

Responsive, with light and dark themes

ReadyBid is built as a fully responsive web app. The same flows work on desktop and tablet, with navigation collapsing into a compact menu on smaller screens, and a light/dark theme toggle in the header lets users browse in whichever mode they prefer.

The result

The result is a clean, modern reverse marketplace that is easy to understand on the first visit: post what you need, let sellers compete, accept the best offer and pay securely. If you're planning a marketplace of your own, book a free scoping call and we'll map out the flows, trust features and payments it needs — and quote the build fixed-price.
